John is an angel investor and former longtime Googler. He spent sixteen years at the company, working on early stage products and backing high-growth entrepreneurs. For seven years he was a partner at Google Ventures (GV). He led investments in companies like StockX, Toast, Podium, Tend, Gametime, and Flock Freight.
Prior to joining GV, John led Google’s global partnerships work with technology incubators and accelerators, including Y Combinator and Techstars. He also managed business development and marketing teams. His first job at the company was helping launch its philanthropic arm, Google.org.
Before joining the Alphabet family of companies John worked in Washington DC in public policy and advocacy roles. He helped start and was an early employee at both the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) and Center for American Progress (CAP). He graduated from Georgetown with an AB in Government and has an MPP from UC-Berkeley.
